I invite readers to have a look at the Environment Agency website and type in their postcode. When I did this, I was surprised to see under indicative flood areas in York what appears to be a major inland estuary running down Stockton Lane and south of that line.
This map of river flood areas in York bears no resemblance to historical fact, or even to the fact of the existence of the Foss Barrier. When people or insurance companies look at this area they will be put off for no good reason.
What they will see looks like a blue paint roller over much of York to the east of the Ouse. This work by the Environment Agency is inaccurate and should be revised.

Hempland Drive, York.
