Work to remove the wind-battered scaffolding from Lendal Bridge, York, could take until Sunday. High winds battered the bridge and badly twisted scaffolding leaving it in such a bad state that City of York Council has been forced to dismantle it early. But its condition is far worse than originally thought and work cannot, therefore, be done at night - meaning there will be single-lane traffic while it is removed between 9am and 4pm over the next couple of days.
