With the Ouse bursting its banks yet again the weekend's premier event, York Amalgamation's Fur and Feather match was another in a growing list of casualties.
Should river levels permit the event will be re-fished on Saturday on the Ouse below the city.
Wednesday's match saw a good entry of 63 at Woodlands where the fish seem to be spreading out slightly.
Lindon Roberts (MAP Elton) drew just off the hot pegs on Skylark 27 but managed enough to win. Fishing a small maggot feeder three rods out he took small carp steadily for his 29-3-0.
Others: Peter Riley (Boroughbridge Muskateers) and Bill Blythe (Middlesborough Newman Scotts) both 27-2-0, Ken Gollightly (MAP Elton) 26-11-0 and Ian Hall (Redcar) 26-10-0
Things had improved by Saturday after more mild weather with Nigel Johnson (MAP Elton) winning with 44-10-0. Drawn on Partridge 24, he topped the 72 pegger using a maggot feeder with single maggot taking carp to 4lb.
John Thompson (Leeds) took second from peg 12 on the same lake with a mixed bag of carp scaling 38-13-0.
Others: Keith Kotchie (MAP Elton) 31-2-0, John Jowett (Sensas Garbolino) 24-10-0, Tom Pickering (Daiwa) 22-6-0 and Lance Roberts (Elton Tackle) 21-14-0.
Sunday's 68-entry went to Andy Rabjohn (Elton Tackle) with 45-8-0. Fishing maggot feeder from Skylark 11, he found some better quality fish taking carp up to 6lb. Alan Wadsworth (Wakefield) was second with 33-1-0 off Partridge 22.
Others: Cliff Dawson (York Tackle) 26-3-0, Bert Poole (West Park) 25-6-0, Tony Bulliment (Darlington) 22-7-0 and Keith Fryatt (Elton Tackle) 22-4-0.
It was the same one-two positions as last week in Sunday's 24-pegger at Raker Lakes.
Organiser Paul Kozyra (Anglers Corner) led from peg 21 on Horseshoe Lake. Fishing maggot over pinkies at 13 metres he netted five carp to 5lb plus odd roach and trout.
John Cosgrove (Anglers Corner) was on peg one where he fished chopped worm and caster at three metres for five small carp plus roach and skimmers for his 22-6-0.
Others: Mick Herrington (Headingley Angling) 19-12-0, Terry Carlton (Acomb Tackle) 19-0-0, Dave Dennison (Pudsey) 11-6-0 and Dave Madison (Anglers Corner) 10-5-0.
One of the few river matches to take place in a flood-ravaged Yorkshire was the Knaresborough Fur and Feather where 27 rods endured a gruelling session on the Nidd.
David Owen (Knaresborough) needed just a single eel of 1-11-8. Drawn on the last peg above the Saw Mills weir, he netted the match-winning snake on lobworm.
Mal Johnson (Knaresborough) used stick float and maggot tight to the bank for a mixed net of small roach and dace scaling 1-6-8.
Others: Stuart Procter (Knaresborough) 1-3-0 and Brian Thomas (Knaresborough).
Martin Banby (Wetherby) took Sunday's 20-pegger at the Oaks from peg nine on Poplar Lake. Fishing pole and maggot tight to the islands he netted small carp, chub, orfe and barbel for a level 18-0-0. Stuart Turner (Wakefield) took second place with 12-4-0.
Others: Mel Sykes (Harrogate Angling Supplies) 11-10-0, Steve Rodgers (Leeds) 10-13-0 and Peter Smith (Darlington) 10-5-0.
