A York turf company has sent a special Christmas present to Sir Cliff Richard to complete his festive wish list.
Sir Cliff, who is a keen gardener, once went on record in a survey of Christmas Wishes from the stars that all he wanted for Christmas was a weed-free lawn.
Elvington-based Rolawn, which claims to be Europe's largest cultivated turf producer, has given Santa a helping hand and delivered his dream by supplying about 2,000 square metres of their best-selling Medallion turf to his garden.
Sir Cliff decided to redesign the large expanse of undulating lawns which lead from the terrace steps to the bottom of his garden at the rear of his Surrey home. His desire was to have a large, level lawned area and that's just what he got.
The process of delivery took several weeks and Rolawn's Isabelle Rogerson presented Sir Cliff with his gift along with Harvesting Manager, Steve Houseman.
Terry Ryan, Rowlawn's sales and marketing director, said: "Rowlawn are delighted to supply turf and topsoil to Sir Cliff's garden and to be able to help fulfil his Christmas wish."
Sir Cliff said that he was delighted with his new lawn.
"It's just what I needed," he said.
