York Wasps coach Lee Crooks' hopes of bringing in new blood before Sunday's clash with Northern Ford Premiership big-guns Hull KR appear to have failed.
Crooks had wanted to sign a direct replacement for Andy Precious, who broke his ankle in the first minute of the opening game of the league campaign against Doncaster last week.
The Wasps boss, resigned to losing the prop forward for six weeks, made immediate efforts to fill the void but so far nothing has come to fruition. "It won't happen this week," he said.
"I'm still waiting to hear from a couple of people, but as we stand there's no-one coming to the club.
"We're in a position where we can cope (with the injury list) but if it gets worse we will struggle. Hopefully, something we happen next week."
