Residents in Malton are to be consulted over plans to install a traffic calming scheme along a main road.
Residents of Highfield Road and Pasture Lane are being sent questionnaires by highways chiefs at North Yorkshire County Council asking whether or not they would like to see better safety measures.
The original proposal by North Yorkshire County Council upset many residents, who felt they had not been consulted properly.
Raymond Lightle, from the county council's traffic department, said an exhibition showing detailed plans of the proposals was going to be staged in the New Year.
"Detailed information about the scheme is also being sent to every household along Pasture Lane and Highfield Road and residents will be invited to comment on the plans," he said.
