LABOUR, the self-proclaimed party of the family, has so far abolished the married couples' tax allowance; lowered the age of consent for homosexuals; planned to introduce no-fault quickie divorces and removed the ban on promoting homosexuality in schools.
Now, in a typically desperate attempt to avoid losing the votes of single mothers and co-habiting parents, Tessa Jowell, the Minister for Employment and Women, has said that marriage should no longer be promoted as the ideal context for bringing up children.
This is yet another clear example of a pathetic and superficial government whose only consideration in these pre-election times is to remain in power at all costs and to hell with the long term effects on society as a whole.
