On December 4, the champion beast in the Christmas fat stock show and winner of both the Major A P Cooper and Jackson and Remmer cups was a 475kg Lim X heifer exhibited by Chris Beal of Yedingham. The animal sold for 150p/kg to T S Horsley Butchers, Scarborough. Judge was Mr Frank Turner. In the sheep section, the champion pen of butchers lambs was a pen of 54kg Texel X lambs exhibited by Marwood brothers. The animals were sold for £64 per head to Radfords Butchers, Sleights. Judge was Mr Norman Horsley.
