The Environment Agency issued a flood warning today for Naburn Lock and riverside footpaths in York.
Footpaths particularly affected by the warning are King's Staith, Queen's Staith and South Esplanade.
The Environment Agency said the River Ouse was expected to peak at nine feet above normal early this evening.
During the height of the November floods, the river reached more than 17 feet above normal.
A flood watch remains in force for all the rivers and streams in the Vale of York and a flood watch is also in place for the North York Moors, including the River Derwent.
