About 100 past and present members of York City Rowing Club gathered at the Merchant Adventurers Hall for their annual dinner.
Hugh Mattheson, the former Great Britain oarsman and rowing correspondent of the Independent newspaper, was the chief guest and speaker.
He presented the Whitmore Trophy for the most improved junior sculler to 14-year-old Freya Porteous.
Club captain Steve Noble presented Chris Jones with a bottle of champagne for the most improved oarsman.
David Tinkler, a last season junior sculler, was congratulated on gaining final selection for the Cambridge University lightweight blue boat.
Dick Gradley, 68, represented YCRC at the British Indoor Rowing Championships in Reading.
Rowing on a Concept ergometer he picked up a bronze medal in a time of seven minutes and 54 seconds for the 2000 metre distance.
The championships also attracted Olympic oarsmen, including James Cracknell, from the British gold medal winning coxless four, who took the top honours in the premier event, beating two Italian oarsmen from the silver medal crew.
