Pocklington forged their way into the semi-finals of the Yorkshire Under-16s Rugby Union Cup with a firecely-contested 17-13 win at Wharfedale.
The Dales side took the lead with a penalty, but Pock hit back with a try and conversion by full-back Charlie Allen.
Pocklington's forwards then dominated the remainder of the first half, powering up the field and releasing the ball for a second converted try by Allen.
Wharfedale made a more positive start to the second half, playing the game up the middle through their bigger and more powerful forwards. Determined scrummaging by the home side, allied to indecisive Pocklington tackling, resulted in two unconverted Wharfedale tries.
After two missed penalty attempts, Allen made amends by slotting over a penalty kick to alleviate the pressure on Pocklington and although the home side came back with an unconverted try in the last minutes, Pocklington hung on to secure victory.
