SHREWSBURY'S shot-stopping swap-shop could continue at Bootham Crescent tomorrow, writes Dave Stanford.

Town manager Kevin Ratcliffe has been riding a goalkeeping merry-go-round, interchanging between Ian Dunbavin and Paul Edwards all season.

It was Edwards who started the campaign as number one but was dropped after a 3-0 defeat at Barnet on the opening day of the season.

As a result, Dunbavin enjoyed an extended ten-game run in the team until a 4-0 home defeat by Rochdale prompted Ratcliffe to wield the axe again.

Edwards was recalled but was subbed at half-time after dropping a clanger in the 2-0 defeat by Leyton Orient in October.

Dunbavin was again reinstated between the sticks but his place could again be under threat after conceding eight goals in Shrewsbury's last two outings.

Last week's 4-0 defeat at Brighton and the 4-1 reverse at Cheltenham in the FA Cup seven days earlier might also prompt Ratcliffe to make changes.

Despite being sent-off last week, on-loan centre-back Matt Redmile is still eligible to play tomorrow in what would be his last game before returning to Notts County.

However, Ratcliffe may decide to recall former skipper Andrew Tretton as he looks to end a barren run that has reaped just one win in five outings.

He may also be tempted to tinker with his formation after scoring just four goals away from Gay Meadow all season.

On their travels, Shrewsbury have packed the midfield with five, forcing seven-goal top scorer Nigel Jemson to operate as a loan frontman.

However, former Hartlepool striker Chris Freestone could be paired up front with the ex-Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday star as Freestone goes in search of his first League goal for Town.
