A listed building occupied by SmartypantS, the day nursery and city creche in Castlegate, York, is up for auction at a guide price of between £225,000 to £250,000.
The premises which has two upper floors, goes under the hammer at Allsop & Company's commercial property auction at The Berkeley, London, on Thursday December 7.
Bidders are being told that the entire property, including an enclosed yard at the rear, was let to SmartypantS last December for £27,000 per year on a 15-year lease with tenant's break clauses every fifth year.
Also on Allsop & Company's auction schedule, at an earlier auction at London's Cafe Royale on Monday December 4, is the building occupied by the Selby branch of Currys. Asking price: Between £275,000 and £300,000.
The property, in the heart of Selby close to the junction of New Lane and opposite Finkle Street, consists of a ground floor shop and accommodation on first and second floors.
The Currys Group acquired the lease in 1986 for 20 years at a rent - exclusive of rates - of £26,000 a year with a rent review scheduled for next year.
