First Acomb have proved they are the hot-shots of the Yorkshire Boys Brigade football world.
The York outfit stormed to victory in the Yorkshire County Battalion Boys Brigade five-a-side tournament, remaining unbeaten throughout the eight games and winning the final with a golden goal.
The First Acomb side, based at Holy Redeemer Church on Boroughbridge Road, won five and drew one of their six group games to qualify for the semi-finals, where they hammered a Scarborough side 4-0.
The final against a Mirfield five remained goalless after normal time, but Thomas Bissett found the net with a golden goal in extra-time to win the trophy.
Boys aged up to 11 years could play in the competition, yet the First Acomb team, who all attend Poppleton Road Primary School, were all aged between nine and ten, so will be eligible to defend their trophy next year.
