Dutch York City trialist Theo Gunnissen was Copmanthorpe's match-winner in their 4-3 York Leeper Hare Football Leage division two victory over Heworth.
Gunnissen repaid Copmanthorpe secretary Tony McGale's support by signing for Copmanthorpe so he could play in the match.
McGale had spotted Gunnissen's skills while on holiday abroad and recommended him to City who invited him for trials at Bootham Crescent.
City opted not to keep him on but Gunnissen showed his class with two second half goals to tip the game Copmanthorpe's way after it was 2-2 at half-time.
Ashley Burnett and John Langley scored Copmanthorpe's other goals with David Bonner (2) and Darren Gargan scoring for Heworth.
Heslington won the top-of-the-table clash 3-2 at home to Hammerton, who led 2-0 with half an hour to go. Darren Walker started the Heslington fight-back and Danny Walters levelled before Steve Norman smashed in the winner from 35 yards.
An Alan Deaton goal direct from a free kick gave Haxby and Wigginton the lead at Stillington and Paul Dyson capitalised on a goalkeeping error to increase the score after the break. Deaton then netted his second to round off a comfortable win.
Poppleton's plight at the foot of the table increased as they went down 3-0 at Stamford Bridge to goals by Ian Constable (2) and Jamie Rankin.
Hamilton Panthers are beginning to establish a gap at the top of division three, their latest success being a 5-1 at LNER Builders where Ian Rankiellior (3), Matthew Wright and Andy Lovett were on target. John Dean got Builders' consolation goal.
Elvington Harriers came from behind for the second week running to snatch victory. Rawcliffe Rangers established a 3-0 lead through Paul Beddingham (2) and Brian Dale, but Elvington hit back in the second half to win with goals from Tom Hovington (2), Johnathan Rogerson and Ray Beardsley.
Second placed Selby RSSC won 2-1 at home to Wilberfoss with goals from Darren Kelly and Stuart Briggs. Steve Gilpin replied for Wilberfoss.
Moor Lane thrashed Grasshoppers 82 9-1. Jamie Hirst led the way with four goals and there were single goals for Andrew Kenyon, John Kennelly, Steve Purdy, Roy Atkinson and Paul Jones.
In Reserve A, Greg Fitzmaurice (2) and Graham Wigley gave Bishopthorpe a 3-0 win at Old Malton and Pocklington hit eleven goals without reply against nine-man Nestle Rowntree.
Neil Martin and Jamie Calvert hit second half goals to give Dunnington a 2-0 home win over Osbaldwick and St John's College had a comfortable 6-1 victory over struggling New Earswick.
Mark Potter hit two second half goals for Wigginton Black Horse as they defeated Easingwold 2-0 to move to the top of Reserve B.
Chris Bell and Jon Huberry gave Malton Bacon Factory a 2-1 home win over Moor Lane with Daniel Yates hitting the visitors' goal.
Adam Cook gave South Bank a half-time lead at home to Poppleton. Bank then missed two penalties and paid the price as Dave Asbury equalised.
Ian Pickard (2), Ian Bevis and Dominic Barry were the Civil Service scorers in a 4-1 win over Rufforth. The games at Fulford and Barmby Moor fell victim to the weather.
Wilberfoss managed a fine 3-2 win at second-placed Haxby and Wigginton to move into top place in Reserve C. Robin Walker (2) and Ross Pooley gave Wilberfoss the points with Mike Smith and David Coverdale scoring for Haxby and Wigginton.
Ian Wilkinson put Heworth ahead against Stillington, who then went ahead with two goals from Steve Johnson before Danny Sellars hit an 85th minute equaliser.
The point was not enough to move Stillington off the bottom of the table as Norton won 3-0 at home to Wheldrake with goals from Gary Hall (2) and Gary Heslewood.
White Horse's recent improvement in form came to an abrupt end as they were hammered 9-2 at Huby by goals from John Robinson (4), Ches Stoney, Clive McGuiness, Rich Durrant, Tom Waddington and an own goal. Tony Weiritch and Owen Seymour scored for White Horse.
Copmanthorpe hit five without reply against LNER Builders, Joe Solitch scoring four of them and Matthew Pearson one. Builders goalkeeper Paul Bailey also saved a penalty.
Ben Leeming scored an own goal for Boroughbridge which put visitors Heslington into a first-half lead but after the break Boroughbridge took total command. Craig Kitching headed in a Fran Raper corner to equalise and then Raper hit two goals himself to seal the 3-1 win and make it three wins from three league games.
