Heavy pitches were the order of the day as Saturday's deluge arrived too late to prevent all but four of the scheduled York Leeper Hare Football League games taking place.
In division one, Riccall managed to play only their second League game of the season and achieved their first win with a 4-2 triumph at home to Barmby Moor. Alan Jackson, Mark Sanderson and Paul Brough hit first half goals with Phil Goddard replying for Barmby.
After the break honours were even with 16-year-old Stuart Winters scoring for Riccall on his debut and Jim Clark hitting Moor's second.
Post Office moved into third place after a 2-1 home win over Wigginton Black Horse.
Simon Johnson gave Black Horse a first half lead after Post Office enjoyed long periods of possession. After the break, Black Horse took command but it was Post Office who scored when a Black Horse defender headed the ball past his own keeper and the winner from Andrew Bonarius in the 80th minute.
St Johns College are second after a 3-1 win at home to Thorpe United thanks to goals by Andy Battersby, Jim Middleditch and Jamie Angelsea.
Fulford are fast becoming an international side with Norwegian and Japanese students from the University joining their squad. Norwegian Asle Sekelsten hit the goal of the game at top of the table Haxby when he unleashed a 35-yard yard screamer to put Fulford into the lead for the second time in the match.
Dave Houldridge had given Fulford a first half lead which was equalised by Ben Drummond after the break. Sekelsten then hit his goal only for Stephen Sullivan to level matters again for Haxby and then hit an 88th minute winner.
Alex Livey and Andy Moore gave Civil Service a 2-0 lead at Osbaldwick and although Neil Robertson pulled one back after the break the home side could not find enough to share the points.
More Leeper Hare reports later this week.
