CHILDREN at Wigginton after-school club have been knitting to raise money for their newly-improved premises.
The club is based in a building next to Wigginton Primary School and is celebrating a £700 grant from Transco's Community Aid Foundation. Bev Lambert, treasurer, said the children had also been learning a new craft skill to help raise money. The art of French knitting has caught on with children at the club and a measuring session was held last night to find out who had knitted the longest tube. Three prizes were offered for the longest tubes.
Bev said: "We're going to ask the children what they would like us to buy with the money raised."
