Pickering Town might ask the FA to give them home advantage so they can play their FA Carlsberg Vase second round tie at Marske United after the match was called off for a fourth time last night.
Marske's pitch was again waterlogged and the tie has been rearranged for tomorrow night (kick-off 7.45pm). But there is again some doubt the pitch will be playable, so Monday has been pencilled in as an alternate date.
Pikes boss Jimmy Reid, whose side have seen their league programme disrupted as a result of the postponements, said: "It's getting beyond a joke, especially as we have a perfectly playable pitch in Pickering."
The former New Earswick under-19s side play their first game in Pickering Town colours tonight, at home to Eccleshill United in the Northern Under-19s Alliance League Cup first round.
As previously reported in the Evening Press, the Pikes have taken over the youth team as New Earswick's ground fails to meet new NAL standards.
Manager Gary Farthing is still in charge, though, and adds 16-year-old James Pringle, who has impressed for Pickering reserves, to his squad. Mark Willoughby and new signing from Spalding Town, Oliver Williamson, are unavailable, with the latter again unable to make his debut.
Pickering Town U19s: from Quinn, Bulmer, Collins, Ball, O'Reilly, Anderson, Garnham, Jones, Farthing, Brown, Gaughan, Turner, Moorhouse, Pringle. Meet at ground 6.30pm, ko 7.30.
Harrogate Town gained a good point in the UniBond League Cup group stage as they drew 1-1 with division one front-runners Bradford Park Avenue at Wetherby Road last night.
Town, at the opposite end of the table to Bradford, went ahead through former York City striker Iain Dunn on 40 minutes. Wayne Benn equalised on 57 minutes.
Selby Town were held to a 1-1 draw by Northern Counties East premier division strugglers Liversedge. In a rain-affected game at Flaxley Road, Kristian Baxter gave the Robins the lead before half-time only for Liversedge to draw level on 75 minutes.
