Harrogate racing driver Marc Nordon won both the final two rounds of the Elf Clio Renaultsport Winter Championship to take the title at a wet Pembrey circuit in Wales.
In addition to his two wins, which took his victory tally to three out of five rounds, Nordon also started both races from pole position and set the fastest lap in each to finish well clear of nearest rival Tom Ferrier (Bletchingley), who took a fourth and second place.
"I said before the weekend if it was wet we would be in good shape and I was proved right," said 23-year-old Nordon, who drives for Boroughbridge team Bintcliffe Sport Racing.
"I was surprised how easy it all was. I just concentrated on making good starts and building a lead. The car ran perfectly - I was delighted for both myself and the team."
Nordon's 19-year-old team-mate Mark Davies, from Mirfield, finished third.
Team boss, former touring car driver John Bintcliffe, said: "Both drivers have done an excellent job throughout the championship. Nordon did everything right and thoroughly deserved the title while Davies, who is still relatively inexperienced, has proved himself to be a possible front-runner in next year's championship."
