YORKSHIRE electricity has been officially presented with its award for achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction among the 12 largest UK electricity suppliers.
Bill Wilkinson, managing director of Supply, received the award at a presentation at its Scarcroft headquarters.
The company showed an impressive performance in the areas of supplier image, value for money, meter reading, billing, reliability and payment options in a survey by JD Power and Associates and Navigant Consulting.
Jim Gaz, JD Power and Associates' director of energy services, said: "Yorkshire Electricity has clearly exceeded the industry average as far as overall customer satisfaction is concerned."
The study was designed to provide a standardised measure of satisfaction among the most prominent domestic electricity suppliers and was based on the responses of more than 3,750 customers throughout the country.
Enthused Mr Wilkinson: "We are thrilled because it demonstrates the calibre of our people, who do their utmost to ensure Yorkshire Electricity provides the best possible services to its customers.
"It is a tribute to the supply business, as well as our colleagues in the distribution business, who work hard to maintain one of the most reliable networks in the country.
"We will use the results of the survey to benchmark our customer service and examine areas for possible future improvement."
