AN executive room with bells on is worth shouting about.
So when Colin Marsh, who with his wife, Sharon, owns the Blue Bridge Hotel, York, saw and heard the city's town crier in St Helen's Square, he approached him and offered him something to really ring out an Oyez or two about.
Colin asked the tricorned John Redpath to officially announce his hotel's four new executive standard rooms, created by converting the former owner's house next door to the hotel in Fishergate.
The project is part of a £500,000 investment by the couple spanning the Blue Bridge and their other hotel, the St Denys, in St Denys Road.
The total number of rooms at the Blue Bridge has now been increased to 20.
Mr Redpath's verdict: "I often have tourists asking me where to stay, and the opportunity to find out exactly what these rooms were like was too good to miss."
