A MAN died and two women were injured in a two-car smash on the A19 at Burn, near Selby.
The accident happened near to the junction with West Lane on Saturday morning.
A man and a woman had to be cut free from a green Peugeot 205 by firefighters after the crash with a silver VW Polo.
The man was taken to Pontefract General Infirmary by air ambulance helicopter, where he later died.
The woman was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where she was described as "poorly but stable".
The driver of the Polo, another woman, was taken to York District Hospital with slight injuries.
The man's name has not yet been released.
A white car is believed to have been following the silver VW Polo just before the accident at 11.05am.
