THROWING a magnificent 180 for a 16 dart game, Tony Cooper propelled Britannia to a 7-2 York Maxiprint League victory against Mitre.

Brian Farrell got Mitre off to a fine start but they found Britannia 'A' too strong.

Paul Lane (180) and high scores from Lee Brundrett helped Britannia 'B' wrap up a 7-2 win at Burton Stone, whose Paul Tallon and Chris Downing were the only winners.

Mick Ward (21) and Rob Henman were in good form for Turpin, but Nags ran out 7-2 winners. Top marksmen for Nags were Paul Roberts and Neil Hart.

Second-placed Punch had a tough match against Volunteer, the lead changing on three occasions before Martyn Turner and Graham Sanderson won the crucial last game.

Division two had the top finishes as Tap increased their lead at the top with a 6-3 win at Reindeer. Alex Render (21) was in excellent form closing on 142, while Darren Bailey and Andy Parker got among the tons.

Pack had a 2-0 lead but Bishopthorpe rallied with Arthur Conyers (116 finish for 18) and Tony Raymond (19).

Jim Kelly and Eric Sleightholme combined to take the match and although Danny Mahon and Ian Winn won the last game, Conyers and Raymond hit the tons to secure the aggregate point.

Ebor had their match won after the singles, Stan Isaac being Palace's only success.

Huntington sealed a 6-3 win at Jackdaw, with Dave Brigham in fine form.

Crown went down 6-3 to Six Bells, whose Baz Sherratt hit the big scores to make sure of the extra point. Best for Crown was John White.

In division three, Ship and Crescent were all square after eight at which point Mal Muncaster and Chris Parlabean took the decider for Crescent.

Woolpack scored an 8-1 win over Cygnet, Dave Cormack and Brian Atkinson playing well.

Geoff Kitson was Howden's only singles success at Yearsley.
