Stop the cruelty
THE flood appeal is not the only good cause inviting our attention today.
Children In Need, the BBC campaign started in 1927, has raised £273 million down the years to help under-privileged children.
On the same day, York's Hollywood superstar Mark Addy launched the new NSPCC campaign in York. This aims to raise awareness and put an end to child cruelty, full stop.
That so many children live in fear or neglect is a source of shame.
But by supporting both these worthy campaigns, we can all do our bit to change their lives for the better.
