It's crunch time for Pickering Town according to manager Jimmy Reid, despite the Pikes celebrating a six-match winning streak.
Pickering, currently third in the Northern Counties East League division one table, take on Premiership outfit Garforth Town in the second round of the League Cup tomorrow.
And according to Reid it is exactly this sort of fixture that will truly test the mettle of his young side.
"Any team that has won six games on the bounce has done well but this is a game when we can really judge ourselves.
"We are not the finished article but this is a chance to see how far we have come and will prove how good the players are."
With no injuries to report Reid is hopeful his side will claim at least a draw against a side in mid-table in the Premier Division.
In the same competition, an all-Premiership clash sees Goole travel to Sheffield with new boss Peter Daniel at the helm for the first time
Daniel, a League Cup winner at Wembley with Wolves in the 1980s, was appointed manager earlier this week following the departure of John Reed to Harrogate Town.
Daniel has also played for Hull City and has managed North Ferriby, Pontefract Collieries, Winterton Rangers and Denaby United.
West Yorkshire League champions Nestle Rowntree are also in cup action when they entertain Teesside League outfit Grangetown Boys Club in the North Riding County Cup.
His side may not have played for a couple of weeks but boss Jim Collis revealed 'Trees should have a psychological advantage over their visitors.
"We actually beat them in a final at Pickering Town a few years back," he said. "But they have always been a good side and we are expecting a hard game. I just hope after two blank weekends we will be racing to go."
In the WYL, its derby day as revenge seeking York RI head to Knaresborough Town.
RI lost to Town 3-2 earlier this season thanks to a late goal and manager Brian Wilkinson is anxious to avoid a repeat.
After not playing for a couple of weeks due to the wet weather, Wilkinson put his players through a tough training session in midweek to "blow away the cobwebs".
Striker John Alcock, who is unavailable, aside, RI head to Knaresborough with a full-strength squad.
It is not often that a club would settle for an away draw in a cup competition, but having to travel to Harrogate Railway is a blessing for beleaguered Tadcaster Albion.
With their Park ground, on Ings, Lane, submerged for the best part of two weeks the club are now piecing together just what damage has been done.
With their clubhouse flooded by six feet of water for ten days Albion are now awaiting the insurance assessors to take a look, but while the dressing rooms' concrete floors should be fine the rest of the clubhouse floor may need to be replaced.
However, ground damage has also been caused with sections of the perimeter fence having been washed away.
Club chairman Mike Burnett is unable to say just when the ground will be ready for use again, but the club will be hoping for the assistance of their Northern Counties League colleagues in reversing fixtures wherever possible until they are back in business.
However, manager Wayne Day has been boosted by the fact that he had 30 players for training at their temporary base in Sherburn and he will be looking for a battling performance in the 'derby' clash in the second round of the NCEL's League Cup as his first division outfit take on Railway from the top flight.
Selby Town, whose Flaxley Road ground has been hit by both the floods and a loss of electrical power, will also be on their travels in the competition.
Premier division Town take on Borrowash Victoria, currently lying fifth in division one, and will be hoping that their in-form strike partnership can produce the goods once again.
Selby's Pete Collier is currently joint leader in the League's scoring charts having bagged nine goals, a record matched by Sheffield's Jonathan Pickess, and Town's Andy Cygan is sixth in the rankings having netted six.
Unibond League outfit Harrogate Town are without a fixture.
They had been due to face Radcliffe Borough in division one, but the north Manchester side have a slightly more pressing engagement as they take on York City in the first round of the FA Cup on Sunday at Bury's Gigg Lane ground.
New Earswick Under-19s travel to Guiseley in the Northern Under-19 Alliance League on Sunday.
