York and District had a resounding win against Saltburn In the Yorkshire County League.
At home David Stroughair, Russ Barton, Michael Bruce and Stuart Bryan won 28-12.
In the other rink at Thanet Road John Emmerson, Dudley Williams, Geoff Walker and Mal Harrison had an equally convincing win, allowing their opponents to score on only two of the last 12 ends, the final score being 29-9.
At Saltburn there were good wins for Iain Boyle, Gordon Smith, Barry Walker and Doug Mitchell 27-14 and for Mick Parker, Dave Hewick, Graham Brooke and Duane Kellett 23-16. York won 107-51, gaining the maximum 14 points.
In the Hebdon Trophy York were faced with a tough game against Hull.
At York Eric Hodgson, Malcolm Thompson, Dave McCowan and Dave Dale scored an eight on the 16th end in a 39-16 win and Dennis Haw, Alwyn Johnson, Liam Cahill and Alan Storey won comfortably 31-13.
Away Hull were in total command with Brian Thomas, Alwyn Redhead, Charlie Arnett and Ken Hutson losing 29-12 and Ted Boyle, Gordon Walker, Chris Lea and John Berridge losing 27-16.
York won 98-85 and took eight points from the game to Hull's six.
