The Prince of Wales is to visit Rawcliffe, Naburn and York city centre as part of his tour of flood-hit parts of the region tomorrow.

Prince Charles is due to arrive in York in the late morning with a visit to Rawcliffe Bar Visitors Centre where he will meet local dignitaries and emergency services.

He will then move on to Shipton Road to meet residents whose homes flooded.

His next port of call will be North Street, where he will find out about the sandbag operation on the banks of the Ouse and talk to members of the emergency services, the Army and the City of York Council. He is due to arrive in North Street at 12.10pm.

The Royal party will then move on to Naburn, which was cut off for six days by road during the worst of the floods.

Prince Charles will visit the Flood Advice Centre before meeting residents and members of the International Rescue.

Later in the afternoon he will move on to the Wain Homes development in Barlby then the Civic Centre and Carentan House and Day Centre in Selby.

* The City Screen cinema in Coney Street will re-open at 6pm tomorrow night. The cinema was closed for more than two weeks because of flooding in the basement.
