Clifton 'A' scored a comfortable 8-1 home win over Selby 77 in men's division one of the York Badminton League.
Kevin Davison and Phil Sinton were untroubled taking three straight wins for 90-22, while Chris Shipley and Rex Pollington took the consolation win with an 8-15 15-8 15-2 success over Dave Streather and Mark Screeton.
Students 'A' scored a last rubber 5-4 home win over Rowntree. Duncan Bosworth and Russell Binns took the maximum for a Student total of 90-49, but Mick Burton and Paul Capewell kept their nerve to beat Ian Turner and Geoff Whittaker 13-8 in the final rubber.
Riverside beat Millthorpe 9-0 in a men's division two match where Millthorpe were only fielding two pairings. John Fowler and Nigel Staniforth topped the Riverside returns with two wins for 60-19.
RI Tuesday/Thursday scored an easy 9-0 home win over their 'B' team in men's two. Brian Morley and Matt Hitchens had the best 'A' team series which resulted in three straight wins for 90-26.
St John's visited Fulfordgate in men's three and put in a good team display to win 8-1.
New Fulfordgate pairing of Gary Hall and Matt Hobman took the home consolation after a tough three game win.
York RI played well to beat Drax 'A' 9-0 in mixed division one. Craig Liversedge and Nicola Coggins put in the best Institute display with three straight wins for 90-28.
Drax 'A' bounced back in their next match to score a 9-0 home win over Students 'B'. Steve Parr and Jos Fawlder were in great form for the home team, taking a straight game maximum for a return of 92-30.
Rowntree 'A' used home advantage to beat Selby 77 'A'.
Craig Dobson and Kath Watt took the best Rowntree figures with a return of 92-48 including a 17-14 15-13 over Dave Hearn and Alison Dinsdale who took both Selby 77 wins.
Huntington 'A' put in a good team display to beat Sheriff Hutton 6-3 in mixed division two.
Huntington's match-winners were Paul Moisley and Angela Hobman, who took three straight wins for 78-34 including a 13-11 13-8 over Dave Grieve and Jo wade, who took two wins for the visitors.
Drax 'B' encountered Millthorpe and won 5-4 with Keith Burrows and Anne Casper taking three Millthorpe wins for 105-65, including a tough 13-15 15-5 17-14 success over Dave Walsh and Sue Hardy.
Knavesmire 'B' visited Middlethorpe in mixed division five and came away with a 5-4 win.
Janet Brookes and Paul Rogers won the match for the visitors with three wins for 90-39 including a one and four over Ian Thompson and Ann Oxley who took two home wins.
Selby Jubilee 'B' beat YUSC 'B' 6-3 in an entertaining clash.
Gary Turner and Sue Scott took all three Staff Club wins for 112-66, but Pete Lund and Marion Woolforth sealed the win with a 15-8 13-15 15-5 over Keith Locker and Liz Fenwick.
