A steam giant of the past is soon to roll back on to a North Yorkshire railway.
A two-year project to restore the Southern Railways Class S15 steam locomotive is nearing an end in the North Yorkshire Moors Railway engine sheds at Grosmont.
And it is hoped the imposing engine could be hauling passenger trains between Pickering and Grosmont by April.
The engine was built in 1936 and is owned by the Essex Locomotive Society.
It first came to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway 15 years ago.
But it is five years since it ran on the line.
Acting depot manager Alan Warden said: "This has been a major rebuild and has required a lot of effort."
