While sympathising with cyclists using the hazardous Tadcaster Road, I should like to highlight the fact that there is no route to Strensall which has cycle lanes or street lighting along its full length.
Cycling along those dark and potholed roads is not for the fainthearted.
The bus service is fine until we experience bad weather or York Races, at which point the timetable is thrown away.
Never mind their green credentials, until there are safe cycle tracks or the suburban rail stations are reopened, most Strensall commuters will remain forced to rely on their cars.
