In response to David Bell's letter of November 3, Harrogate Theatre cares deeply about its customers and we apologise that he had such trouble trying to book tickets for our recent production of Alice, A Chilling Ghost Story.

The box office in our Victorian theatre was once a cloak cupboard and is extremely small and only capable of holding three staff at any one time. This means that during busy periods, such as now with the Christmas pantomime almost upon us, queues can develop.

As for Mr Bell's comment that the theatre has severe cash problems, we are pleased to report that Alice was a runaway success and our finances are very healthy. Our friendly box office staff will always do their best to provided good service.
