A terrified ten-year-old girl was pinned down and robbed of £2.50 by two teenage boys in a York street.
The muggers, both aged about 14, pounced outside Metcalfe's fruit and florist's shop in Burton Stone Lane, Clifton.
They demanded cash and threatened to steal the girl's cycle.
When she refused to hand anything over, the pair pinned her to the floor and snatched the cash. One of the youths held his jacket over her head while they took the cash.
Both robbers had dark hair and were wearing jeans. One was wearing a dark tracksuit top and the other a cream top and cream baseball cap.
Police said the pair ran off towards Water Lane after the attack, which happened yesterday lunchtime.
