LYNNE DAWSON, the North Yorkshire soprano, has stepped in at short notice to sing at a concert in York Minster tonight.
The York Musical Society asked her to help out with their joint performance of Brahms Requiem with members of the Philharmonic Choir of Munster, Germany.
They had arranged for soprano Sally Matthews to sing alongside baritone, Roderick Williams, but Ms Matthews was not able to make it to York because of ongoing difficulties on the railways.
Joyce Goodwin, concert secretary, said they were very grateful to Lynne Dawson for agreeing to perform at such short notice.
Lynne Dawson, of Tollerton, sang at the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales.
Tonight's concert starts at 7.30.
