SCHOOLGIRL Rachel Stubbs is hoping her career in the fashion industry won't be brief after she won a national competition to design a pair of knickers.
Rachel, 14, who lives in Strensall and goes to Huntington School, was invited to Top Shop's Oxford Circus branch after winning the competition, which was featured in Jump magazine.
She and her mum, Christina, had an all-expenses-paid trip to London where they were treated to lunch. Rachel also had a manicure, compiled her own CD and was presented with £100 in vouchers, as well as a goody-bag.
Christina said they had tried to buy a pair of the knickers at Top Shop's Coney Street branch in York.
"But they didn't have any - they said there was such high demand for them that they had all sold out," she said.
