You printed a picture of the latest design for the Coppergate II centre which, of course, is an artist's impression (Letters, November 2).
It struck me how similar the building is to a European railway station - the kind you find in Hamburg or Dusseldorf. Not the kind of building I would expect York people to want next to Clifford's Tower.
The Evening Press has recently published several pictures featuring Clifford's Tower with an open view in the background.
On October 20 a picture showed an airship flying over the tower and on November 1 another featured the floods taken from Tower Street. Both showed the tower at its best - in an open environment.
If Coppergate II is allowed to swallow up this open area we will not be able to see the tower in the same light again.
