One of York's most senior citizens has died less than three months before her 105th birthday.
Annie Butler passed away in her sleep at the Oliver House Residential Home.
She was born on January 21, 1896, and went to school in Starbeck, Harrogate, before going into service for a Harrogate doctor at the age of 15.
Annie met her husband Frederick in the Territorial Army and they married in 1919, before moving from Harrogate to York.
Annie retired 44 years ago and Frederick died ten years later.
When the Evening Press reported on her 104th birthday in January this year, Annie said she owed her long life to "plenty of breast of mutton and lots of veg" as well as "plenty of bread and butter."
Annie's funeral service takes place at York Crematorium on Friday at 1.30pm.
All flowers should be sent to the Co-operative Funeral Service, Cromwell Road, York.
