TOMORROW'S race meeting at Folkestone was called off today. The course is waterlogged.
Tomorrow's meeting at Kelso is in doubt. There was to be an inspection early this afternoon, but the chances of the meeting going ahead are remote.
The only racing in England this afternoon was the all-weather Flat meeting at Lingfield. Huntingdon and Sedgefield meetings were called off yesterday because of waterlogging.
Graham Bradley will be at Newbury tomorrow - not to make a comeback, but to sign copies of his new autobigraphy, 'The Wayward Lad.'
The Wetherby-born jockey, a colourful character who retired last season, has had a race named in his honour at the Berkshire track which is situated not far from his adopted Lambourn home.
Brad's Autobiography - The Wayward Lad Novices' Handicap Chase will not, it has to be said, take much winning.
Recent scorer Moral Support, from Charlie Mann's local yard, should take plenty of beating in the hands of Noel Fehily.
Ballynabragget can open his fencing acount in the Vineyard At Stockcross Novices' Chase.
Trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies, the seven-year-old has finished runner-up in both his completed starts this seaspon and is overdue a winning turn. Successful on this course over hurdles, he can add to his score tomorrow.
Galapino is worthy of attention in the Evening Standard Handicap Hurdle.
Although largely out of form on the Flat this season, Jamie Poulton's gelding benefitted from a return to hurdling at Fontwell recently when finishing second to Kildare Chiller.
He is selected to go one better in this two miles and three furlongs event.
Francolino has been in excellent form recently and can defy top-weight in the Furlong Platinum Club Handicap Chase.
Nick Gaselee's smart prospect came home a wide-margin winner at Plumpton last time out and this French recruit, clearly very much at home on testing ground, is napped to do the business again under Carl Llewellyn.
