Left York seven weeks ago to write for a newsweekly in Brussels and cannot
believe the mayhem going on back home in God's Own Country. Fortunately for
me I missed the last real biggie in the early 80s too - I was in Harrogate
at the time. Good to see everyone pulling together over there. Hope you can
still get a drink (even if not in the King's Arms, Lowther or Plonkers!).
Was planning a trip back but, every time I try to get to England, there's a
huge transport problem (petrol, rail, weather at sea, chunnel flooding etc).
Will get there in the end - must remember my wellies! Meantime, a big
"hello" to all who know me back home!
Stay dry, at least on the outside, if you can...
