THE York firm which builds support vehicles for use by Formula One racing teams all over the world is set to employ 15 more staff after winning a £2.5 million export order from Toyota Motor Sport, based in Germany.
Pocklington Coachworks, which has already been selected as a finalist twice over in the Evening Press Business Awards 2000 in the Exporter of the Year and Progress Through People Award categories, will need the extra workforce to cope with the Toyota order for four support vehicles, for delivery by October next year. The new intake will bring the staff to 83.
The deal was clinched with the help of York and North Yorkshire Export Forum - and the company is telling its exporting story as part of the Forum's Talking Exports! initiative which gets successful exporters to spread the word.
Winning finalists will be announced at a glittering awards dinner at the Merchant Adventurers Hall, York, on November 30.
