This is an excellent site. I left York for Canada in early 1966. If the
archival evening press is checked there was a brief note in a copy in
January 1966. As we lived for many years at the Bootham end of St.
Mary's I remember the 1947 floods with the area below flooded. Sounds as
though things are much worse this time.
