A waggy tail wasn't enough to secure a win for Ryedale MP John Greenway's dog in a contest to find Parliament's best pooch.
Benjy, the Norfolk Terrier, made the trip all the way down to Westminster to take part in the contest - but it was all in vain.
"He was well and truly beaten," said Mr Greenway.
The event, which is held every year on the lawns outside the House of Commons, is held to find the best dog belonging to a Parliamentarian.
"The thing was won by Lord Lipsey, and even though Benjy lost, North Yorkshire still had a good win - Dame Lady Masham came second with her rescue greyhound," added Mr Greenway.
"Benjy enjoyed himself, though he got absolutely soaked in the rain. I got a bit mucky too with him jumping up and I had to change my shirt. It was great fun though."
