I AM writing the history of Easingwold's Air Cadets from its formation in 1966 to the present day. I am a former commanding officer and now the chairman of the squadron and we have, over the years, kept a detailed scrapbook so I have a wealth of knowledge of that period.
However, I have established that during the war there existed a 1457 Squadron Air Training Corps based at Joseph Rowntrees School, New Earswick, with detachments at Easingwold, Stamford Bridge and York.
If you know anything about the exploits of 1457 Squadron during the war years, please get in touch with me,
Contact me on 01904 738694 during the day or 01904 766442 at night.

Central and East Yorkshire Wing Air Training Corps,
