Kevin Darley travels to Doncaster tomorrow secure in the knowledge that the jockeys' championship is finally his for certain.
The Sheriff Hutton-based rider stretched his lead to 14 over nearest rival Richard Quinn when scoring on Mayville Thunder at Musselburgh yesterday.
With only two days of the season remaining, Darley, for the first time, is now relaxed about his pending triumph, knowing he cannot be caught.
With 150 winners to his credit on turf, Darley looks likely to add to his score at Doncaster, courtesy of Gweneira in the RJB Mining Lionheart Fillies' Conditions Stakes.
Trained by John Gosden, who gave the local hero the leg-up this season on Observatory - a Royal Ascot winner and also conqueror of Giant's Causeway - Gweneira won on her debut at Sandown in August.
Although unproven on soft ground, she looks an exciting prospect and it would come as no surprise to see her provide Darley with win 151 here.
Quinn is also likely to figure on the Town Moor scoreboard.
He teams-up with Jungle Lion in the EBF CI.S.W.O. Maiden Stakes and Henry Cecil's well-regarded youngster should give a good account on his debut.
The CPL Products Homefire Showcase Handicap looks wide-open and lends itself to a surprise result.
Bond Boy could well be the one to provide it. Bryan Smart's three-year-old was far from disgraced when finishing seventh to Mr Stylish after being badly drawn at Bath on his latest outing.
Successful at Beverley in mid-summer, Bond Boy is awarded the Nap vote to add to his score here.
Michael Bell, coming to the end of another splendid campaign, could be breaking open the bubbly after Eve has contested the Champagne LansonLady Riders' Championship Handicap.
Eve has won her last three starts and is in tip-top form. Furthermore, she has has a very accomplished pilot in Sarah Bosley, which is so important in races of this nature where experience counts for everything.
Post Box looks set to deliver in the BWD Rensburg Median Auction Maiden Stakes.
Roger Charlton's two-year-old was beaten only a neck on his debut at Bath and left the impression that day that he was capable of further improvement. He promises to run a big race here.
See More Business, who was allotted 12st in the weights for the £80,000 Thomas Pink Gold Cup to be run at Cheltenham on Saturday, November 11, and who won at Wetherby last Saturday on his seasonal debut, is reportedly likely to miss the race.
This leaves Fadalko (10-11) next in the handicap for the Cheltenham race.
