The River Ouse is not expected to rise for 24-hours, a City of York Council spokeswoman said this afternoon, but more severe weather conditions are on the way at the weekend.
The council today began bus services for stranded residents of Elvington and a similar service is to be extended to Naburn tomorrow. More details will be released later.
New Earswick Primary School will be closed until Monday because the boilers have flooded and Naburn Primary School will be closed until the end of the flood.
Scarcroft Primary School, which was shut, will be open again tomorrow.
For people who usually park in St George's Field car park, Grimston Bar Park & Ride is operating as usual.
