Haydock offers the best chance of racing tomorrow, but with heavy ground the only certainty it promises to be tough for horses, jockeys, and for punters.
Tomorrow's Windsor meeting was called off today. The course is waterlogged.
Towcester's meeting is subject to a 7am inspection tomorrow. It would just have been possible to race there today but the course will not be able to soak up any more rain
Hexham's meeting on Friday was abandoned today because the course is waterlogged.
Raise A Prince will be in his element in the muddy conditons at Haydock and the Sean Woods-trained seven-year-old deserves attention as he makes his jumping debut in the Coulter Novices' Hurdle.
A useful handicapper on the Flat, especially on testing ground, Raise A Prince is switching to hurdles at a fairly late stage of his career. There is no reason to believe that he cannot make a successful transition. From running on the Flat, he will certainly be fitter than most of his rivals.
With Philip Hide in the saddle, Raise A Prince can make a winning debut.
Prince Among Men promises to take all the beating in the Newton Le Willows Police Juvenile Novices' Hurdle.
Martin Pipe's recruit has won two of his three starts over timber and his superior experience looks sure to stand him in excellent stead tomorrow. Champion jockey Tony McCoy has the mount.
McCoy is an interesting booking for Highland Welcome in the Weatherbys 'Stars of Tomorrow' Open National Hunt Flat Race.
The four-year-old is trained at Newmarket by William Jarvis, who has few runners under jumping rules. The fact that Jarvis has snapped-up McCoy for the mount is a hint worth heeding.
Nordic Prince has been in the form of his life lately and John O'Shea's gelding deserves further support in the Martin Talbot Memorial Novices' Handicap Chase.
Richard Johnson takes the mount on this prolific winner, who may not be troubled to defy a 6lb penalty.
Lambrini Gold ended last season in a blaze of glory and it would come as no surprise to see Ginger McCain's useful prospect return to action in a similar manner.
The six-year-old faces the starter in the Renault Vans Handicap Chase and can make a successful reappearance after showing improved form to win his last two starts. Tony Dobbin has the mount on the Nap selection.
Jonjo O'Neill can do little wrong at present and the Cumbrian trainer looks poised to add to his ever-growing score with Follow Me in the Gamekeepers Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle.
The four-year-old made it third time lucky for the season at Carlisle last month when beating Golden Thunderbolt by threequarters of a length. Clearly effective on soft ground, tomorrow's conditions should not inconvenience O'Neill's in-form representative.
