THE last time car journey at Jorvik Viking Centre today marked the end of an era. This remarkable attraction is closing down for a multi-million pound refit. Jorvik has made a huge contribution to York's profile and economy, as well as turning archaeology into a discipline with mass public appeal.
However, as the minds behind Jorvik know better than most, time never stands still. To stay in front, the museum needed to update its image.
Evening Press readers have already enjoyed a sneak preview of the new look. When it opens again next year, Jorvik will have renewed its ability to amaze and inspire.
