Julie Scattergood shot three tons in a superb 19 darter but Puss 'n Boots were edged out in the decider of the York John Smith's Ladies League match by Cygnet's Maggie Druett and Lynn Thompson.
City Arms won the top of division one clash against Brigadier 6-3 despite a fine 22 darts from Jo Hodges. Layerthorpe remained in contention by winning the last two legs for a good 6-3 victory against Wenlock Arms.
Sandra Bruce hit a maximum for Ox but it was Diane Moreland and Margaret Britten who closed the match 5-4 in favour of Three Cranes.
Vaults could not repeat last week's outstanding win despite Sue Claydon's good scoring. Maureen Beddingham and Kay Snowdon sealed the 5-4 win for Clifton.
Shepherds lead division two but were made to fight for the match points by Half Moon. Maggie Beddingham hit the tons for Shepherds while Eileen Haw and Anne Allinson saw them home.
Jo Brundrett and Rachael Potter took the decider for Britannia 'A' in their 5-4 win over Cygnet, while Britannia 'B' lost 7-2 to some splendid scoring from Slipper's Aline Turpin (171) and Doreen Johnstone.
Burton WMC lead division three after proving too strong for Mitre whose Wendy Smith hit the tons. Woolpack are hot on their heels after a good 6-3 victory at Mount, whose Julie Brownlee gamed in 24 darts.
Jeanette Whittaker closed in 24 for Jubilee but good scoring by Gill Warriner steered Slip to a 6-3 win.
Tang Hall WMC found no answer to Leeman's individual form and were well beaten. Debbie Witts and Hazel Flintoft shone as they romped to a 6-0 lead before Marie Ward partnered Debbie Moody to record the club side's only point.
Division four leaders, Queen, suffered their first defeat of the season at Junction, whose Margaret Haley and Trish Thompson sealed victory. Lisa Potts had a two-dart 74 finish and Maz Houlston was a double-ton scorer for Beeswing who flew to a 6-3 win against Frog.
Heather Precious was the best performer for Shepherds as they beat Cue Ball 6-3. Leeman 'B' produced the same scoreline against Puss 'N Boots.
Teams should note that new players must be signed on seven days before they are eligible to play.
York White Rose Ladies League division one leaders Sun were made to battle for the points by Deramore. Rookie Lisa Harrison put Sun into a 4-1 lead, but Deramore bounced back with Beryl Thornham and a splendid 21 darts from Julie Arthur. Sue Scrimshaw ended Deramore's determined challenge and Sun eventually ran out 6-3 winners.
Second-placed Burton WMC are also undefeated, but found the going tough against Fulfordgate. All seemed to be going to plan after skipper Jane Barnes (140) won a crucial game to put Burton 3-1 up. However, Fulfordgate fought back and took the next three.
But Burton's Lillian Coombs levelled then Olive Thompson stood firm in the last game decider, despite the high-scoring endeavours of Karen Reasbeck (100,116).
Pauline Helm hit an excellent 21 darter to inspire Palace to victory against Crescent, while New York needed Anne Smith to finally put paid to Vaults 5-4.
Clarence moved two points clear at the summit of division two, but had to rely on Celia Wells to see off battling Bowling 5-4. Win Ware and Michelle Harrison were Fulford Conservatives' only winners as bottom-placed Bumper surprised them with a 7-2 win.
Lord Collingwood moved to within four points of the lead with 24 darts from Astrid Tute and Irene Bowes seeing off Six Bells 5-4.
In division three, Coach bounced back after last week's defeat with a stylish 7-2 win over newcomers Tramways, which was inspired by their captain, Jill Clapham (125). This margin gave them a clear three-point lead as Shanter suffered their first loss of the season. Shanter went down 5-4 at Nags Head thanks to a brilliant 22 dart decider by Diane Sanderson.
Huntington again found the winning touch by mauling Magnet 6-3, Wendy Pearson clinching the match.
