Hundreds of teenagers braved the cold and the rain to hit the dance floor at a leading York nightclub.
Queues began forming outside Ikon/Diva, on Clifton Moor, 90 minutes before the club was set to open, despite the poor weather.
And manager Dave Ryan threw the doors open twenty minutes early to get the clubbers, aged between 12 and 16, into the twin nightclubs before the rain started up again.
The fifth such event, featuring a dry bar, needed 25 staff - including more doormen than are employed on an adult night - to watch over the youngsters.
"It has been a huge success," said Mr Ryan.
"The capacity is 1,200 for Ikon, but we may well have to open up Diva as well to cater for the numbers.
"It is a resounding success."
The night, run with the support of North Yorkshire Police and City of York Council, cost youngsters £5 and there are more scheduled for the Christmas holidays.
