Yorkshire cricketing legend Freddie Trueman was in York today, hoping to encourage a spot of later-life learning.
The demon bowler was helping to celebrate the opening of 40 new learndirect centres across Yorkshire. The centres are aimed at giving adults the chance to further their learning through the internet, by giving them access to drop-in centres in shopping malls, high streets, libraries and leisure centres.
You can find out more about the project on 0800 100 900.
Freddie came to see the process in action at Target 3rd Age in York, where he himself signed up to learndirect.
