York College completed a great double at the British Schools Orienteering Score Event Championships, held near Nottingham.
Heather Gardner, 17, who runs for the York-based Eborienteers, won the Under 19 women's category and Tom Van Rossum won the Under 19 men's category.
Another Eborienteer and York College runner, Matthew Speake, made his British Junior Team debut in the European Junior (Under 21) Championships in Switzerland and was the second GB athlete home, finishing 29th in the classic race.
Eborienteers Jenny Whitehead and Amy Willis travelled to Aviemore, Scotland, to compete in the open women's category for England in the Senior Home Internationals against Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
The pair helped the English team to a clear victory with Whitehead, a former Queen Anne and York Sixth Form College student, winning the individual trophy and taking second place in the relay.
Whitehead has also been selected to represent Great Britain in the Euromeeting match in Denmark in two weeks time, against several other European countries including Sweden, Finland, Norway, Switzerland and Denmark.
